TUC launches Radical Route Heritage Trail

June 10 2008

On Wednesday 14th May the TUC and Unite launched their Radical Route: A Walking Tour of Liverpool, City of Protest.

The Radical Route takes you through hundreds of years of Liverpool's history, from the 1775 riots and seamen's strikes, the 1911 transport strike and "Bloody Sunday", right up to the present day.  It encouranges the participant to look at Liverpool's great architecture in a different light and to remember the wonderful characters who made our city great and fought for the conditions and benefits that we enjoy today in our working lives.

The map to accompany the Route can be downloaded by following the link on this page - you will need Adobe Acrobat.

There is also an audioguide to accompany the route and it will be available to download shortly.

The Radical Route was launched with a party at the Newz Bar followed by a guided tour around Liverpool led by Liverpool's Community Historian, Steve Binns.
